Overview

CairoTDay 1: Arrival in Cairo

Arrive in Cairo: Arrive at Cairo International Airport.

Transfer to your hotel: Check-in and relax after your flight.

Evening Option: Take a leisurely stroll around Tahrir Square or enjoy a traditional Egyptian dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2: Pyramids of Giza & Sphinx

Giza Pyramids: Start your day with the iconic Pyramids of Giza (Great Pyramid of Cheops, Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure). Explore the pyramids and the nearby Sphinx.

Optional Camel Ride: You can opt for a camel ride for a unique view of the pyramids.

Egyptian Museum: In the afternoon, head to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo to see the treasures of Tutankhamun and other ancient artifacts.

Sound and Light Show: In the evening, consider attending the Sound and Light Show at the Giza Pyramids for a magical history lesson.

Day 3: Cairo – Islamic Cairo & Coptic Cairo

Coptic Cairo: Visit the Hanging Church, the Coptic Museum, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue.

Islamic Cairo: Explore the Saladin Citadel, Mohammed Ali Mosque, and the Sultan Hassan Mosque.

Khan El Khalili Bazaar: Wander through the bustling market for souvenirs and traditional handicrafts.

Overnight Train or Flight to Luxor: In the evening, take an overnight train or a short flight to Luxor, the ancient city of Thebes.

Day 4: Luxor – East Bank

Karnak Temple: Visit the Karnak Temple Complex, one of the largest religious structures ever built, dedicated to the Theban Triad (Amun, Mut, and Khonsu).

Luxor Temple: Explore Luxor Temple, which is especially beautiful when lit up at night.

Optional Evening Felucca Ride: Take a relaxing boat ride on the Nile River in the evening.

Day 5: Luxor – West Bank

Valley of the Kings: Visit the Valley of the Kings, where famous pharaohs, including Tutankhamun and Ramses the Great, were buried.

Temple of Queen Hatshepsut: Explore the stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, built into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari.

Colossi of Memnon: Stop by the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.

Overnight on the Nile Cruise: Embark on a luxury Nile cruise to Aswan in the evening.

Day 6: Nile Cruise – Edfu & Kom Ombo

Edfu Temple: Visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt.

Kom Ombo: Continue to Kom Ombo, a double temple dedicated to both Sobek (the crocodile god) and Horus (the falcon god).

Overnight on the Nile Cruise: Enjoy a relaxing evening on the cruise as you sail towards Aswan.

Day 7: Aswan

Philae Temple: Visit the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis, located on an island in Lake Nasser.

Aswan High Dam: Explore the Aswan High Dam, one of the largest dams in the world, which created Lake Nasser.

Optional Felucca Ride: Take a traditional felucca sailboat ride around Elephantine Island.

Day 8: Cairo – Optional Day Trips

Day Trip to Alexandria: If you have time, take a day trip to Alexandria on the Mediterranean coast, and visit the Alexandria Library, the Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, and the Qaitbay Citadel.

Or, Visit the Step Pyramid of Djoser in Saqqara: If you prefer, take a day trip to Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the oldest pyramid in Egypt.

Day 9: Departure

Free Time: Depending on your flight time, you can do some last-minute shopping or visit any attractions you may have missed.

Departure: Transfer to Cairo International Airport for your flight back home.

Optional Day 10: Relax and Explore Cairo

You can extend your stay in Cairo to relax, do additional sightseeing, or visit the Cairo Opera House, the Giza Zoo, or enjoy more time in the local markets.
