Overview

The Great Temple of Ramses II in Abu Simbel is indeed a remarkable monument from Ancient Egypt. Its impressive dimensions and historical significance make it a popular destination for visitors. The temple was built during the New Kingdom period and serves as a testament to the greatness of that era.

The itinerary you've mentioned involves a transfer from Aswan to Abu Simbel via a private air-conditioned vehicle. The temples at Abu Simbel are true masterpieces of Pharaonic architecture, showcasing the grandeur and achievements of the New Kingdom. Visitors have the opportunity to explore both the Queen Nefertari Temple and the King Ramses II Temple during a 2-hour visit. Afterward, the journey takes you back to Aswan.

If you're interested, I can provide more information about the historical background of the Great Temple of Ramses II and its significance in Ancient Egyptian culture. Just let me know!

Spectacular

A very long bus ride but definitely worth it. Visit that I consider essential if you are in Egypt. The beauty of the two temples surpasses what you have seen on TV. Simply spectacular, carved into the mountain with gigantic statues. If they don't explain to you that in the 60s the temples were moved stone by stone to a somewhat safer area of the water, it doesn't even cross your mind. Inside there are a lot of rooms to visit, obviously the temple of Ramses II is bigger than that of Nefertari, but both are great. The only drawback is the large number of tourists, if you arrive first thing in the morning there should be less stress. Thanks so mush
