After a two and a half hour bus ride, you'll arrive at the mountainous area, commencing a night ascent up Mount Sinai. With comfortable shoes and determination, you'll climb 750 steps to reach the summit, where the captivating sunrise will greet you. This very spot is where Moses is believed to have received the Tablets of the 10 Commandments.
Following the descent, you'll enjoy a revitalizing breakfast from the provided boxes at the hotel. The next stop is the Monastery of Santa Catalina, an ancient Christian landmark nestled at the mountain's base. This 6th-century World Heritage site boasts impressive walls and the renowned Basilica of the Transfiguration, showcasing remarkable Christian-Orthodox artistry.
Within the monastery's confines lies an impressive collection of codices, ranking as the second largest in the world, surpassed only by the Vatican Archives.
