Sharm El Sheikh
Feel like Indiana Jones in the movie "The Last Crusade" with this boat trip to Petra, the Jordanian city where the capital of the Nabataeans was located.
Petra day tour from Sharm el Sheikh:
Around 1:00 in the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh to start this excursion.
After a bus ride of approximately two hours, we will arrive at the port of Nuwaubian, in the Egyptian territory of the Sinai Peninsula. Here we will board the ferry bound for Aqaba. We will arrive at this Jordanian port after an approximate hour of navigation.
In Aqaba, we will take a bus that will take us to Petra after a journey of about two hours. We will visit the archaeological site of Petra to learn about the ancient capital of the Nabataeans. In this historical complex declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, we will see the famous façade of the monastery and the El Tesoro building, made popular by the shooting of the Indiana Jones movie “The Last Crusade”.
We will also visit the remains of the amphitheater and the Corinthian tomb, authentic jewels of Jordanian archaeology. We will know the importance of Petra for the Nabataeans, the Romans, and the Arabs throughout history through the incredible stories that this site treasures.
After the visit to the monumental complex, we will regain strength with a free buffet lunch (drinks are not included) in the city of Petra.
We will return by bus to the port of Aqaba. From here we will go by ferry to Nuwaubian, on the Sinai Peninsula. At this last point, we will take a new bus that will take us back to the hotels in Sharm el-Sheikh around 10:00 p.m.
