High Dam
The Aswan High Dam is a massive engineering project built between 1960 and 1970 to control the flooding of the Nile River, generate electricity, and provide irrigation water for Egypt's agricultural lands. It is 111 meters high and 3,830 meters long, and forms Lake Nasser behind it, the largest artificial lake in the world. The High Dam is a symbol of progress and great achievements in modern Egypt, protecting the country from flooding, increasing agricultural production, and generating electricity.
